In
January 1998 Te Kaokao O Takapau was formed as a subsidiary Trust of Te
Runanga Matauranga O Tuhoe. This was primarily in response to a lack of
local services specifically targeted toward promoting welfare and opportunity
for children with a disability. The aims were;
-
Identifying
potential clients, and conducting a needs analysis assessment
-
Establishing
key networks with internal and external organisations relative to the organisation
-
Identifying
and resourcing core services which provide for an improved service delivery
focussed on "client need"
-
Securing
of financial resources which supported operations, and allowed for effective
implementation of key strategies in providing an excellent service
-
Staff
development strategy implemented addressing weaknesses and enhancing strengths
to achieve more qualified staff
We
believe whanau who have a child with a disability have the right
